You have finished four+ years of college and now want to put your degree to good use by getting a job. You will finally begin to make money instead of just spending it. Let’s begin the job search:
Tips for searching for your perfect job:
-
Be selective; don’t apply for every job posting you find. Be sure that you are applying for a position in which you know you are capable of succeeding and possibly enjoying.
-
Post your résumé on career websites, mail copies to companies of interest, attend career fairs and e-mail hiring managers personally. Don’t just stick to one mode of applying; use them all.
-
Don’t get frustrated: searching for a job is time consuming and requires lots of patience. You are not the only one applying for these jobs; some companies get hundreds of résumés for one position.
-
Know your market and do research on the type of job for which you are applying. Be able to use correct terminology when submitting your application.
The most common ways to find a job are:
- Personal contact or networking.
- Previous work experience with employer
